Sometimes it can be very useful to send a notecard, a landmark, even the results or conclussions generated during a discussion to all the participants. This tool is fantastic for that because it allow us to send emails from Second Life very easily and quiclkly.

Target User

This tool is suitable for all people in general but perhaps it is more adequate for people that manage group discussions, meetings or brainstormings because it allows them to easily transfer conclusions or ideas generated in Second Life to real life.

What It Does

This tool sends emails from Second Life.

How It Works

#6: erena - 21 July, 2009 - 13:49

The tool has to be rezzed. Then, when touching the object, a blue menu on the screen appears and we are asked if we want to send an email. We choose the "yes" option . Then we will be asked about the part of the email we want to write, we choose "Address" and we write the recipient's email address in the local chat. Then, we select "Subject" and we write the subject of the message. We choose "Message" and we write the text we want to send in the local chat (we can copy a notecard and paste it into the local chat). Finally, the text we have written, will appear on the local chat in green letters. At this point, we will be asked if we confirm that we want to send the email. We say "yes" and the message will be sent in a few seconds. The recipient will get an email sent by our avatar in SL.

Experience of Tool

I have used this tool to send notecards to the participants in the workshops I have carried out in Second Life. This tool has an advantage with respect to the mail box. We don´t need to change the script to change the recipient's email address. The tool asks us about the address we want to send the text to and we just type it in the local chat.
