Theatron HUDs

It looks to be of interest to anyone interested in educational use of virtual worlds such as Second Life.

As part of the Theatron project (funded by Eduserv, run by King's College London) three heads-up displays have been developed by resident HUDmeister Melancholy Graves  (Drew Baker) and we'd like the community to feed back to us what they think of them. These HUDs particularly useful if you are creating buildings as an educational resource in SL or performing in SL.
 
The three HUDs are:
 
the Theatron HUD. This enables people exploring the theatres to teleport from one spot to another within the theatre, and clink on links to external websites and other information that is specific to their location.
 
the Director's HUD. This enables a director and performers to interact with props, to cue text and animations, and also to choose the level of automation or autonomy they have as a performer - information about how to set up the HUD is here http://theatron.wikispaces.com/director+tool
 
the audience HUD - this is a set of animations keyed from a HUD for responding as an audience member, including laughing, clapping and throwing fruit.
 
As part of the testing of the Director and audience HUD we'll be working through a performance of the Ordinalia - a Cornish medieval piece that (we're still checking into this but are fairly sure) hasn't been performed since medieval times.
